Dane McLeod, has an Honours Degree from Monash University and has been a lawyer for more than 22 years. He is an experienced advocate, having appeared in most Courts and Tribunals. He has advised solicitors and corporate clients on a wide range of matters across the commercial law spectrum.

Dane was a solicitor with a top-tier law firm in Melbourne for several years as well as being the Principal and Legal Director of his own legal practice specialising in litigation.

He has a particular interest and expertise in contractual disputes, building and construction and retail leasing; the latter arising from the fact that in private practice he acted for approximately 8 years for the Chemist Warehouse group in all manner of landlord and tenant disputes in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory.

He is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria’s Courts Committee (of which he was Chair for a number of years) and its Litigation Executive. He is a member of the Federal Court’s Insolvency (Bankruptcy and Insolvency) User Group and a was a member of the Victorian Supreme Court’s Rules Committee for 4 years. Dane has also taught Civil Procedure at RMIT University.

Dane also has extensive business experience. He worked in various roles with two Australian banks and in senior management for some of the world’s largest hospitality and tourism operators - where he had responsibility for businesses with multi-million dollar turnover. He understands the commercial imperatives of your business. He can ensure that you are advised, and your litigation is conducted effectively and efficiently with your goals in mind.

And whilst he can advise broadly in many areas of law, he has particular expertise and interest in commercial litigation, retail leasing, company and corporations law, contractual disputes and building and construction matters.
